Mahabharata: TL;DR - Postponed until 2021

“We are going back to the drawing board to make this book even better and offer more value.”

One of our earliest series that received attention, and continues to receive attention, is our “meme-ified” retelling of the Mahabharata. What started off as a collection of silly memes evolved into a larger narrative that transformed the entire epic into a modern story with funny pop-culture references. The goal of this project was always to make the Mahabharata, a story that was compiled over 3,000 years ago, more relatable and relevant to those being raised in the Indian culture today.

Both Radhika and I have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to make this book a reality. We refined the story, spent hours researching and fact-checking, went through multiple rounds of edits, introduced new jokes, and even created new memes to add to the story--all in preparation to make this book awesome!

We wanted to make Mahabharata: TL;DR available this Diwali holiday season. It would be a perfect gift for those looking to find something that is modern, fun, and culturally relevant. It’s a book that would be great for nearly all ages--from teenagers looking to learn about the epic for the first time to adults looking to refresh their memory, all the while sharing laughs along the way.

But, alas, we have made the difficult decision to delay the publication of this book. We decided to go back to the drawing board because we are committed to making the book even better. We’ve been blessed to have supportive friends that have given us really valuable advice throughout this process that we just can’t ignore.

What does that mean for you? Well, here is what we plan on adding to the book: more details, more stories, more memes, more jokes. This book will be fun and entertaining, but it will also be very informative. We are going to provide more context to what society was like during the time, character analysis, and interesting notes that help provide a better understanding of the story. We will also include more illustrations and a cool family tree so you don’t get the characters mixed up. All in all, we are not satisfied with “good”; we want to publish a GREAT book for you.

We know that this is not what you want to hear, especially many of you who have been waiting patiently for this book since we posted the first meme. We are sincerely sorry for the delay. However, we promise that this postponement will be worth the wait. We will keep you updated as we get closer to completing this new vision for the book. We are excited for how much better this book will become, and hope you are too!
